What To Expect: Your First Visit

During your first visit to Define Orthodontics, you should expect to be greeted by our friendly front desk coordinator who will assist you in checking in and confirming that any necessary patient forms are filled out prior to the beginning of your appointment. We recommend bringing along any documentation you think will assist you in filling out the required paperwork. This includes a photo ID, insurance cards, a list of current medications, and records or referrals from your general dentist. Once all the required paperwork is on file, we will call you back for your appointment.

The initial orthodontic consultation with Dr. Sodhi consists of a thorough exam of your dental structures and facial features. X-rays, dental impressions, and molds may be taken of your smile to get a fuller picture of your orthodontic concerns. After reviewing your case, Dr. Sodhi will create a personalized treatment plan that best addresses your needs. During a private consultation, she will present you with all of your options and let you know what you can expect from the process of straightening your teeth and correcting your bite.

Once you have discussed and agreed upon your recommended orthodontic services, you can begin your orthodontic treatment. In some cases, patients can even begin their orthodontic treatment that same day if they feel comfortable with their treatment plan and want to get started right away.

Once the exam and consultation are complete, you are free to go. We will inform you about scheduling and expected discomfort levels, as well as finances and payment options. By the time you leave our office, you should feel confident about what to expect from your upcoming orthodontic work.
